The Guild Art Gallery
presents an ‘environment-space experiential’ titled ‘an interval
between two non –occurrences’ by himanshu s.
himanshu s.
tends to be a bit of an anarchist and very much a non-conformist. He
presents us with opportunity to experience space in a new way.
Come and
experience…. We can only elaborate further, after the experience….
As in his own words……………
“this
event (for exhibition may not be the best word) will have work that is
just there until it needs you and you need it…
…..no,
one will not find anything entirely new….what previously was
unimportant, taken for granted, invisible, will be seen to become
central…
….everything deserves attention… everything can be interesting,
depending on where or how you look at it, how much you are capable of
observing the world or the things that the world is made of…
…its
just that most of the time we are too rushed or too afraid to find
out….
….yes
,we believe anyone can be an active reader of messages rather than
being just a passive contemplator of the aesthetic or consumer of the
spectacular….
yet, it
will be upto the visitors, how far they indulge in the objects lying
around … they may still neglect most of them…
….the
objects include re-usable ‘left-overs’from two different kinds of
worlds, one existed in …exists …or would want to choose to exist in
…one, a world where one still feels that one can bring a change …a
world where one is still striving for a change…..
…the
other, the world we all originally come from …the world of eternal
childhood … a world in which one never grows up, for growing up means
giving up your dreams…a world some of us long to get back to…
…both
these worlds provide a temporary escape that brings us back to our own
world with a deepened sense of its working…
ha…and
with all this there is me …there to share my dreams with you …trying
not to do anything but just being there…what me does is only initiate
the work, me does not control it…
…it
will turn on everybody who can be turned on & turn off everybody
else…& that’s what its meant to do … for that’s how me survives…
shaking off the dust from my shoes and moving on when nobody wants to
listen…”
